Bayer Leverkusen has apparently won the race for Alejandro Grimaldo. As transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports, the Bundesliga club has reached a complete agreement with the strong attacking left-back (23 points in 52 games this season), and the medical check-up has already been completed in the past few days.
Grimaldo is expected to sign a contract with Bayer 04 until 2027. The left-back is moving to Leverkusen on a free transfer, his contract with Benfica Lisbon expires at the end of June after seven and a half years. At the beginning of 2016, the Spaniard switched from FC Barcelona to Benfica.
The Catalans are said to have their eye on the 27-year-old Spaniard again. FC Fulham, Juventus Turin, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have also been said to be interested in the past few weeks and months. The Werkself are awarded the contract.
