Some members of the program have received an alert on a possible theft of sensitive data, including their name, telephone number or email address.

Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue loyalty program, which includes customers of the two companies but also those of Kenya Airways, Aircalin, Transavia and Tarom, has been hacked, Air France-KLM announced in a brief press release.

Without specifying the scale of the attack or the number of customers affected, the group confirms “a data leak in which the data of Flying Blue customers were consulted” but assures that “the IT security team has put in place corrective actions to end the incident.”

“No sensitive data such as passport or credit card numbers were disclosed,” the statement said.

Other confidential data is nevertheless concerned, as indicated by an email from the group sent to potential victims. First and last names, Flying Blue numbers, number of miles, telephone numbers, email addresses and latest transactions are mentioned.

“Air France and KLM regret this situation. In accordance with the procedures in force, we have informed the competent authorities (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens and Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés) of this event and notified the customers concerned” indicates the group in its press release .

The Flying Blue IT teams have blocked the accounts concerned and are calling on the members of the loyalty program concerned to change their account password. Contacted by Tech&Co, Air France referred to the group’s press release.
