After the first downing of a Chinese spy balloon that had been hovering over the United States for days on February 4, incidents over North America began to pile up dangerous flying objectsthat have been rendered harmless by the military.

After the US Air Force, on the orders of President Joe Biden, shot down an object the size of a small car off the coast of Alaska near Prudhoe Bay that was flying twelve kilometers high and thus endangering civil air traffic, a similar operation followed on Saturday; this time in close coordination with the government in Ottawa Canadian territory.

Representing the governments in Washington and Ottawa, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand said it currently makes no sense to speculate about the origin of the flying objects.
