Far from the collective imagination when we talk about French films, AKA is a mind-blowing action movie. Alban Lenoir (A French ; Hero Corp) plays Adam Franco, an undercover agent in a mafia organization. Its goal ? Foil an impending terrorist attack in the capital. Of course, this mission will not go off without a hitch.
In addition to a well-crafted plot, AKA enjoys an excellent staging, a frantic pace that pleases as well as action scenes worthy of the name. But that’s not all. The feature film benefits, above all, from very good acting. Indeed, Alban Lenoir performs his stunts himself and shows the full extent of his talent. For their part, the spectators seem to have appreciated Eric Cantona in his agonizing role of godfather of the mafia.
Definitely, AKA tick all the boxes. No wonder, then, that he got noticed on Netflix. We imagine that its popularity will continue to climb in the coming days, in France but also beyond our borders. While originally, Morgan S. Dalibert was to sign a series, and not a feature film, the success of AKA could well mean a potential sequel.
