On January 23, the new president of Brazil, Inacio “Lula” Da Silva, will arrive in the country, one of the regional hopes of the national government to boost the economy, and above all, the external market. Lula will arrive to participate in the summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), and in this context, President Alberto Fernández and Economy Minister Sergio Massa met on the Buenos Aires coast to refine details of the text that will sign with the Brazilian leader. The president himself was the one who, through his account on the social network Twitter, gave an account of the meeting with the minister.

“We shared a working day with Minister Sergio Massa in which we analyzed the start of the economic year and the economic and energy integration agreement with Brazil, which we will sign on January 23 during Lula’s visit,” the President said in his account of the social network, accompanying the text with a photo of the two reviewing papers.

The meeting between Lula and Fernández, which will take place in just over a week, was agreed at the beginning of this month, when the Argentine President attended the inauguration of the Brazilian, in Brasilia, and there, in a private meeting held on January 2. They agreed on the trip of the paulista to Argentina.

This will be Lula’s first trip abroad since he took office as President of Brazil. It will also be a strong support for the Argentine president, almost in a return of favors, since the trip takes place at a complex time for the Argentine government. Just like in one of the most difficult moments in Lula’s life, when he was facing the first days of his detention back in 2019, Fernández traveled to Brazil to visit him in jail.
