CDMX.- Actor Alec Baldwin will not be charged with shooting filmmaker Joel Souza on the set of Rust, after it was revealed that the New Mexico Attorney’s Office will file charges against him for the involuntary manslaughter of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

This Sunday it transpired that the Hollywood actor will no longer have charges against him for the bullet that injured the director of Rust during the shooting on set.

According to information from TMZ, the Santa Fe District Attorney’s Office said that there is no crime to prosecute in the incident related to the film’s director.

This situation is due to the fact that the actor, according to the prosecutor, had no intention of attacking the director, therefore, Baldwin’s case “is due only to imprudence.”

While Baldwin was involved in filming Rust, he accidentally shot Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza on set.

The incident occurred after Alec Baldwin pulled the gun from its holster and accidentally fired a bullet at Hutchins, hitting the filmmaker in the shoulder, the Daily Mail reported.

On January 19, the prosecutor handling the Rust case, Andrea Reeb, announced that Alec Baldwin and gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will face criminal charges for the alleged involuntary manslaughter of Halyna Hutchins.

These accusations were described by Baldwin’s lawyer as a “terrible judicial error.” Both defendants separately announced that they will legally fight the charges against them.
