Kevin Lankinen picked up where Juuse Saros left off. The Finnish goalkeeper was phenomenal with his 30 saves as the Nashville Predators took their third straight victory in the NHL ice hockey league.

On Friday night, Juuse Saros had a rough time when he saved 64/67 shots in Nashville’s victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. Now fellow goalkeeper Kevin Lankinen had to shine between the posts as the Washington Capitals fell 3–2.

– It was nice not to have to withstand 67 shots. Juuse (Saros) did an incredible job against Carolina, he saved us to an outstanding victory yesterday. Now it was my turn to save us until the win, comments Lankinen after the match.

Nashville defender Ryan McDonagh put in the game-winner late with just under three minutes remaining in regular time. Juuso Pärssinen was noted for an assist in the game when he passed Nashville’s lead goal in the first period. The 21-year-old has accounted for 3+9=12 in 24 games during his debut season.

Barkov assisted the victory – Kähkönen’s super save was not enough for San Jose

The victory numbers were 3-2 in favor of the Florida Panthers as the Detroit Red Wings fell to bortais.

Finn Aleksander Barkov passed both of Aaron Ekblad’s goals on the power play. Ville Husso in the Detroit goal accounted for 17/20 saves in the game.

Florida won its second straight after losing five of its previous six games.

Kaapo Kähkönen’s San Jose Sharks fell 5–4 away to the Anaheim Ducks after overtime. Kähkönen, who saved 24/29 shots in the match, was responsible for an absolutely stunning double save in the second period of the match when San Jose led 4–3. John Klingberg almost had an open goal on the return from Brett Leason’s shot, which Kähkönen miraculously managed to pick up.

The phenomenal save was sweet revenge for the unlucky sequence that led to Anaheim’s 3-3 tie. Kähkönen went behind his goal to receive a dunked puck that took a rare bounce off the rim straight to Mason McTavish who was free in front of the open goal.

Things have been tough lately for San Jose, who have only won three of their last ten games.
