Chihuahua, Chih.- The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) issued an alert so that its clients and staff are not fooled by alleged investment products, questionnaires and services that are fraudulent.

The public company stressed that the CFE never requests banking information of any kind through advertising campaigns.

Similarly, the CFE does not give away money for answering questionnaires.

The number of websites, videos and other digital tools through which it is intended to impersonate the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to steal personal data and defraud is increasing. The most common scams are alleged investment products in the name of CFE, through pages that request confidential banking information or cash transfers to “receive profits.”

Also questionnaires that offer a monetary payment in exchange for answering and being sent to other people.

Alleged “gifts from the CFE” for anniversaries: 9,000 pesos for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Electrician, Grandparents… Action by alleged “managers”, especially on Facebook, who offer jobs in exchange for Receive money deposits. They are frauds.

Unofficial “check your bill” sites where citizens are invited to submit their name, address, and details of their electric service. They are platforms to steal personal data, which could be integrated into databases to extort.

The only CFE website is www. cfe.mx. Its only Facebook page is CFE Nacional and its official Twitter account is @ CFEMX.
