The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Faisal Al-Meqdad, who has been visiting Algeria since Saturday as the special envoy of President of Syria Bashar Al-Assad, affirmed yesterday that Syria and Algeria will united front in the face of all the challenges facing the region and the world.

Syria and Algeria “will never be separated and will stand united in the face of all the challenges facing the region and the world”, Al-Mekdad said in a statement to the press after the hearing he granted the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in his capacity as Special Envoy of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar Al-Assad.

The head of Syrian diplomacy said that he had transmitted to the President of the Republic an oral message from his Syrian counterpart, relating to the deep bilateral relations and the developments in the region.

He also underlined that the meeting with President Tebboune “offered us the opportunity to exchange points of view to draw inspiration from Algerian positions and President Tebboune’s sincere analysis of the situation in the region. and the world”.

And to add that President Tebboune assured him that “bilateral relations are close and that Algeria will never abandon Syria, whatever the difficulties, just as Syria was alongside Algeria in all challenges, and this is our aspiration for the relationship between the two countries”.

Al-Mekdad hails Algeria’s stance on Syria as current chairman of the Arab Summit

“Algeria, in its capacity as current President of the Arab Summit, has assumed great responsibilities, defended the rights of this Arab people everywhere (…) and stood, leaders and people, alongside Syria in all the challenges that we have gone through in the past”, recalled Mr. Al-Meqdad, stressing that “Algeria already wanted the Syrian Arab Republic to be only at the heart of the Arab event, at the heart of the League Arab States, Arab solidarity and joint Arab action in order to achieve achievements on the Arab scene”.

In this context, he recalled the reception by Algeria, before the Arab Summit, of Palestinian delegations “with a view to unifying the Palestinian ranks, within the framework of the resistance faced with the Zionization of the land and Man, and this position that Syria shares with Algeria deserves all our respect”.

Fayçal Al-Meqdad also conveyed the greetings of the Syrian President to Algeria, leaders and people, “for his sincere gesture and his support after the devastating earthquake that struck Syria, especially since the team of Algerian rescue was among the first teams to arrive to help the Syrian people, which team had an essential role that every Syrian remembers with pride, just as the aid granted by the Algerian people was impressive”.
