In the race for the Norwich City coaching job, there seems to be a final decision. According to information from ‘Sport1’, David Wagner will soon take over the fortunes of the English second division club.
The native of Frankfurt should “in the coming hours” sign an employment contract in eleventh place in the championship, according to the TV station. The Canaries are currently falling short of their own expectations. With Wagner at the helm, promotion to the Premier League should still succeed via the playoffs at the end of the season.
At Norwich, Wagner replaces Dean Smith, who was sacked a few days ago. Wagner had already looked after Huddersfield Town from 2015 to 2019 and celebrated promotion to England’s elite league in 2017. Accordingly, the former Schalke coach has plenty of experience on the island.
