ANDhe second place achieved at the Canadian Grand Prix has given morale to Fernando Alonso. The man from Oviedo, who occupies third place in the overall pilots ranking with 117 points (it is only 9 from Czech Prez), has been able to achieve six podium finishes this year (he has already 104 throughout his long career) and with each passing race he is seen closer to the Red Bull of max verstappen.
A more powerful AMR23 was seen at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit. Important updates took effect immediately. And what happened in Montmel was buried as if it had been a bad dream.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s Red Bull Ring, Alonso says: “It was great to be back on the podium in Canada. The improvements we have made to the car seem to be working well and we will continue to optimize the set-up for Austria“.

And, immediately afterwards, the two-time F1 world champion indicates: “It is a circuit with a very short and fast lap, which always brings with it good races and overtaking. You have to be careful with loopholes and avoid having damage to the car with the hard bananas that are in this layout. I really want to see what we can do. The goal will be to score as many points as possible for the team and attempt to regain second place in the Constructors’ Championship“.

Stroll, looking forward to European poker in July
For his part, Lance Stroll, Fernando’s teammate at Aston Martin, gives his point of view in the hours before the start of the Austrian Grand Prix. “I’m looking forward to racing in Europe again. Four appointments await us in this month of July, all on very different circuits. The Red Bull Ring is a challenging track, with three DRS zones at the start and then a sequence of fast corners. It is a fun track and the sprint format brings us an additional element to consider during the weekend“says the Canadian.
