The police went to Åsgårdstrand in Horten on Boxing Day, where a bus had driven into a house.

According to the police, the bus driver is slightly injured. There must be no serious damage to the house.

– There have been several passengers on board the bus. Only the driver appears injured, the police write.

– Even though we were going to crash

One of the passengers on the bus is Bastian Børmarken. He says that he had a good view of what happened from his seat on the bus.

– I realized quite early on that we were going to crash. We drove down from the top of the hill, and it is very slippery, so we drove carefully, says Børmarken to TV 2.

The road is very narrow, and he says that the bus met a fire engine with its siren coming in the opposite direction.

– It is usually far too narrow, so the person driving downhill has to turn to the side. We tried that, but it was so slippery that we cut the fire engine, says Børmarken.

According to Børmarken, the collision went hard beyond the car’s mirrors. When the bus was going out on the road again, it slid into the wall of the house.

– Lucky it wasn’t worse

Børmarken says that the driver was on the brakes, but that it was inevitable to drive into the house.

– After the bus stopped, we were up straight away and made sure everyone was fine, says Børmarken.

He says that the bus driver had to be pulled out of his seat, but that he was conscious and talking.

– It was luck that it didn’t get worse, he says.

Uninhabited house

The house that was hit is uninhabited, and the place is very slippery. The accident must have happened at low speed on a hill.

The police report that the road will be closed for several hours, and are asking travelers to choose other routes.

According to the fire service, the emergency vehicle the bus encountered was on its way to a traffic accident.

– The bus first encountered emergency vehicles, including one of our fire trucks on the ground. Contact then occurred between the mirror of the fire truck and the bus. The bus then sailed on the holka into the building as we understand it here and now, says Acting Fire Chief Andrew Wright.
