AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D vs AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D, the CPU that never hit the market

The first performance analysis of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X3D has confirmed that it is an extremely powerful processor for gaming. Thanks to its extra cache, it can outperform more expensive and newer generation processors.

The comparison is interesting, and uses a GeForce RTX 4090 and a 12 GB GeForce RTX 3080, pitting the Ryzen 5 5600X3D against the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Both processors use the Zen 3 architecture and have a 96 MB L3 cache. The first 8 cores and 16 threads at a speed of 3.4 GHz-4.5 GHz and the second has 6 cores and 12 threads at a speed of 3.3 GHz-4.4 GHz.

1080p and 1440p performance

In most cases, the performance difference between the two processors is minimal, but enough to consider the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as the most powerful in 1080p resolution. As for the 1440p resolution, the differences vary by game. Some titles, such as Resident Evil 4 Remake, present almost equal performance between the two processors, while in others, such as Star Wars Jedi Survivors, the difference in favor is for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

R5 5600X3D vs R7 5800X3D | 6-Core vs 8-Core | How Much performance Difference?

With ray tracing, there is no significant difference in favor of one or the other processor. On average, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D achieves 242 FPS against the GeForce RTX 4090 at 1080p resolution, while the Ryzen 7 5800X3D achieves an average of 259 FPS. The difference between the two is minimal, and considering the price gap between them, it would be worth buying a Ryzen 5 5600X3D. It is unfortunate that this processor is not available in Latin America, and is only available in one market, the United States. This processor would be an interesting upgrade for those who own a PC based on the AM4 platform.
