Mexico City.– President Andrés Manuel López Obrador justified the rental of new vehicles by stating that this practice is only carried out where required.
In a conference, the federal president reiterated that no more transportation vehicles have been purchased for his government and that even the car he uses to get around is not armored.
“Ultimately, new ones have not been bought for officials since we arrived, I use the ones they left behind. And most of the vehicles we received were sold at auction because in the Presidency almost all of them were armored and I don’t bring an armored car and we haven’t bought it” , said.
“If there is vehicle rental, it has to be based on the needs of some secretaries to fulfill their function and that is easy to know (…) We are going to ask SFP to report,” he added.
