An audio that circulates in networks has nothing to do with the implosion of the Titan submersible

Bogota.- An audio shared on social networks in which a succession of several underwater detonations is heard has nothing to do with the implosion of the Titan submersible, although Internet users who mistakenly spread a recording taken from a 2013 video say so.

Tiktok, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube profiles spread a sound in which a string of explosions apparently captured by a microphone under the sea is perceived.

According to the messages, the audio would have been recorded by the United States Navy and would correspond to the implosion of the Titan, the Ocean Gate company submersible in which five people lost their lives at the end of June in an expedition that was heading to Observe the remains of the Titanic ocean liner.

“This is how the implosion of the submarine was heard. How terrifying,” says a Facebook post that shares the recording.

The same content also went viral in English, and accumulates thousands of interactions.

The audio that is shared on social networks has nothing to do with the implosion of the Titan submersible. It is a sound taken from a video available since 2013 on the YouTube channel of a Canadian ocean research center, as proven by a Twitter feed.

A RECORDING AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET SINCE 2013

A search on Twitter with the keywords in English “Titan”, “implosion” and “audio”, leads to a publication of June 25 that already discredited the veracity of the material.

“It’s interesting how the audio from this 2013 video of glass spheres imploding sounds exactly like the audio currently circulating on Titan. #Lies”, maintains the tweet, which attaches a screenshot of an old Youtube entry.

By reviewing the content and with an advanced search, it can be verified that this is the real source of the audio, which is now falsely linked to the destroyed submersible.
