If he notes a lull in cases of bronchiolitis and Covid-19, the Minister of Health warns of the “explosion of flu cases”.

Present in Annecy to visit his hospital center, François Braun took stock of the triple epidemic facing France. “We are coming to a slightly calmer phase with regard to Covid and bronchiolitis”, first clarified the Minister of Health at our microphone.

“Regarding the Covid, we have come down to levels where the virus is circulating much less,” he said. “As for bronchiolitis, we have fallen to a level which is roughly that of previous years, therefore a level which remains very high but which is improving”, also added François Braun.

“Week of all dangers”

“On the other hand, for the flu […] there is an explosion of cases with in particular serious cases which mean that the resuscitation services in a global way are saturated”, continued the minister.

For him, this week is “a week of all dangers”, in particular due to the lack of staff, sometimes on vacation, or on strike like general practitioners. “Staff mobilization is complete and the system manages to hold up,” nevertheless sought to reassure François Braun.
