Mexico City.- Andrés García continues to demonstrate his desire to live, having recently overcome another health crisis that took him to the hospital at the end of last year, caused by pneumonia, and today it is reported that his vital signs are excellent.

“That’s what they said all my life: that I had more lives than a cat,” the 81-year-old actor shared in a telephone interview. And it is that in 1994 the doctors detected prostate cancer. Some time later he defeated him.

At that time, the man born in the Dominican Republic, a Mexican national, was 53 years old, and retired from work to attend to his health. “How many years would you like to live?” he asked.

“That’s what I would like to know. I have no idea. It depends on how the body reacts,” replied the actor, who suffers from degenerative cirrhosis of the liver, as well as several spinal cord problems.

“Andrés is fine. He spends a lot of time in bed, he goes out to the patio in a wheelchair with the help of a nurse, but he is better than in November,” added Margarita Portillo, his wife. “His vital signs are excellent and he’s oxygenating super well, especially after having as severe pneumonia as he had.”

After emphasizing that her husband’s condition is incurable, Margarita added that they always want him to have a good time, in addition to receiving the best medical care, aspects that will probably be touched on in the next García biographical series, currently in development.

“Yolanda Garza (producer) is working on it,” said Margarita, to which her husband added: “Well, I would like to earn a couple of million… for a project.”

“Keep in mind that I’m going to be 82 years old, so for my age, I think I’m fine. I wish I could sing!” Garcia added.
