Tate’s brother, Tristan, has also been arrested in the case. The two are British citizens, but have lived in Romania in recent years.
The brothers are being investigated for human trafficking, rape and the establishment of an organized criminal group. This is reported, among other things, by the Romanian newspaper Gandul and American Daily Beast.
They are said to have been detained for 24 hours and the interrogations will last through the night.

“The Lover Boy Method”
In a press release published by the Romanian police, it appears that four men are suspected of rape and human trafficking. Two British and two Romanian citizens.
– The British citizens recruited their victims by pretending to have an intention to enter into marriage/cohabitation and claiming they had genuine feelings of love, the police write, and call it the “lover boy method”.
– They were later transported and housed in buildings where they […] were sexually exploited by members of the group, who forced them to perform pornographic demonstrations with the aim of producing and spreading material of such a nature through social media platforms, the police write further.
The Tate brothers are not mentioned by name in the police report, but Romanian media reports that it is the Tate brothers who are the two British citizens.
In videos published in Romanian media, Tate is seen being led out of the police station and into a police car by masked policemen.
According to Romanian police, they have identified six victims who are said to have been exploited by the group.
Raid in April
A former policewoman is said to be among those arrested.
– I’m not a rapist, but I like the idea of being able to do what I want. I like to be free, Tate said in connection with his move to Romania in 2017. He thought it would be easier to get away with sexual assault there.
However, in April this year, Romanian police came to Tate’s door and raided his house.
The background was suspicion of human trafficking and rape. Tate then denied any wrongdoing.
Most recently this week, Tate was in an argument with Swedish Greta Thungberg, where the latter said that Tate had a small pee.
