SVT Nyheter Skåne has revealed in several reports how six brothers in Malmö with both their gardening companies and fictitious companies defrauded both customers and Scanian municipalities of many millions.

Four of the six brothers have since been sentenced to between 1.5 and three years in prison for serious fraud offences.

Now a fifth brother, Magnus Dahl, formerly Malek Fakhro, is being prosecuted. He has held board positions in some of the brothers’ companies and was the owner of the renamed company Lomma trädgård (which later changed its name to MSA Service Entreprenad Skötsel AB).

Wanted a deduction of just over SEK 100,000

In 2021, Magnus Dahl submitted information to the Tax Agency which would show that he was entitled to a deduction of almost half a million kroner for a renovation in a villa he had sold. The deductions would entitle him to just over SEK 100,000.

The company that did the renovation must have been Bosab (now FMAS Anläggning Snickeri Service AB) – the company that SVT Nyheter Skåne reviewed and that Magnus Dahl himself, with his five brothers, ran.

– I can only state that during the investigation a search has been made in Bosab’s digital accounting and it has not been possible to see during this search that the relevant invoices would have been entered in the books, writes chamber prosecutor Camilla Ström in an email to SVT.

When the Swedish Tax Agency requested proof that Magnus Dahl paid the invoices, he claimed that he was in dispute with Bosab.

“As I am in dispute with Bosab Fastighetsförvaltning AB regarding the deficient work that has been carried out in the past, I have not yet paid the invoices on recommendation from the consumer agency,” he wrote in an email to the investigators.

Investigators do not believe his explanation

But it was nothing that the investigators believed.

– As evidence in the case, I have relied on information obtained by Malmö District Court and Helsingborg District Court. From the information from the two courts, it appears that there has not been or is no dispute between these two parties.

This means that Magnus Dahl is now being prosecuted for tax offences. He denies wrongdoing.
