Another round of severe weather this afternoon across much of Colorado;  floods, hail and tornadoes are expected

DENVER, Colorado – This Thursday we woke up with mostly clear skies and the sun has been present in the early hours of the morning after yesterday much of Colorado saw strong storms that caused havoc throughout the state.

By today afternoon we will have another round of severe storms that could start after noon. Hail and flooding are expected and the possibility of tornadoes is not ruled out.

The National Weather Service issued a watch for much of Colorado, including the Plains, upstate and the Denver metropolitan area.

Weather conditions for Friday and the weekend promise to improve and no storms are expected.

Here’s a more detailed forecast for the coming week:

  • This afternoon: 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Maximum around 84.
  • Tonight: 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low around 56.
  • Friday: sunny, high near 85.
  • Friday night: Mostly clear, low around 53.
  • Saturday: sunny, high near 84.
  • Saturday night: mostly clear, low around 53.
  • Sunday: sunny, high near 79.
  • Sunday night: mostly clear, low around 56.
  • Monday: Sunny, high near 85.
  • Monday night: mostly clear, low around 57.
  • Tuesday: sunny, high near 88.
