Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler and Pastor Rainer Büchel from Rainbow Pastoral Vorarlberg are the guests in “Vorarlberg LIVE” on Thursday.

During his visit to Vorarlberg on Thursday, Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler defended the government’s anti-inflation measures, which he had criticized as too little and too late. “We’ve also been criticized for doing too much,” said Kogler. UN Editor-in-Chief Gerold Riedmann met Kogler in an external interview for “Vorarlberg LIVE”, who said beforehand that one should not expect “prices to be capped overnight”. “You have to be careful about that,” said the Vice Chancellor.

Pastor Rainer Büchel, rainbow ministry in Vorarlberg

The Altacher and Götzner parish pastor Rainer Büchel has also been part of the five-strong team of the Rainbow Pastoral Vorarlberg for several years, which has written the pastoral care of homosexual and queer people and their relatives on the (rainbow) flag. However, the clergyman in particular is repeatedly caught in the crossfire of criticism. For example, he knows that blessing same-sex couples is still absurd for many Catholics – but he cannot understand it: “Christianity is always about love. It is the highest good and applies to everyone. And then that should be different for same-sex couples? No, I have an inner uneasiness about this point of view.” (WHEN & WHERE on February 6th, 2022)
