You are currently viewing Apple confirms iPhone 15 overheating and announces solution

Since the launch of the iPhone 15, buyers have complained that the devices quickly become extremely hot.

iTopnews first drew attention to the problem on September 26th. Among other things, an Insta post from developer Ivan Zelbo caused a stir. He wrote: “My iPhone 15 Pro Max is almost too hot to touch, especially when fast charging. I thought people were exaggerating, but no, that’s not great. Interestingly, when I hold it in my hand, the left side rail and part of the back on the left side are by far the hottest…they line up perfectly with the logic board.”

Now the Californian company reported to the Forbes portal officially spoken and confirmedthat some devices can overheat.

Solution is in progress

The statement states that some points have been identified that lead to excessive heat development. A solution is being worked on.

“We have identified some conditions that may cause iPhone to become warmer than expected.

Due to increased background activity, the device may feel warmer in the first few days after setup or restore.

We’ve also found a bug in iOS 17 that’s affecting some users and will be fixed in a software update.

Another issue concerns some recent updates to third-party apps that cause system overload.

We are working with these app developers on improvements that are already being rolled out.”

A finding from the last few days: When the battery charge is more than 70 percent, the affected iPhone 15 models appear to have cooled down significantly. They will still be hot, but feel okay in the hand. No devices have caught fire yet.

By the way: Some of the apps that can cause the device to heat up urgently need an update because they are contributing factors. These include Uber and the racing game Asphalt 9: Legends. Insta also caused “heat”, but the developers reacted quickly. Since the new update to the application, the bug on Insta has been fixed.

In the new week update to iOS 17.0.3 for everyone?

iOS 17.1 is currently in beta phase. According to the statement, we now expect Apple to release iOS 17.0.3 in advance to address the problems. Release is conceivable as early as next week.
