Apple will indefinitely suspend a number of film deals for Apple TV+.
In the USA, many authors continue to strike for better working conditions and more attractive compensation. This leads to massive delays in the production of new films and series.
First look deals suspended for now
Apple has now joined a number of other companies suspending various first look deals. The decision is said to have been made at short notice.
Not all productions stopped
However, this does not mean that there will be no more new content. Not all productions are affected by the strike.
In autumn and winter, the programs of all streaming services are likely to thin out further due to the author strikes. Industry insiders expect very few new films and series, especially in spring 2024, as a result of the writers’ strike.
