You are currently viewing Apple Watch: Two workarounds for the buggy weather complication

For some users, the weather complication on the watch doesn’t quite work.

Users are increasingly having problems in watchOS 10; weather data is sometimes not displayed there. Apple hasn’t released a bug fix update yet, but has now found at least two workarounds.

Workaround: Switch between weather views

The first is to switch between the 12- and 24-hour weather views once in the connected iPhone’s Watch app. In some cases this helps immediately.

Alternatively, you can use your iPhone’s location data to change access to the weather data and thus “reset” the complication. This can be done in the system settings under “Data protection” > “Location services” > “Weather”.

Privacy settings can help

Deactivate location access there and then activate it again. This fixes the bug on some watches. Alternatively, you can completely reset your data protection and location settings by resetting your iPhone. Sometimes that helps – you can find the setting under “General” > “Transfer or reset iPhone”.
