ARD presenter Esther Sedlaczek shows her private side after the 2022 World Cup

The year 2022 was professionally exciting for Esther Sedlaczek. Especially the ending. Because the presenter was in action for the first time in her career at a football World Cup. The 37-year-old, who used to moderate the Bundesliga and the Champions League for Sky, was sent to Qatar by her new employer.

At the 2022 World Cup, she was in action for all the important games that ARD showed. In addition to accompanying the German national team, this included a game for eternity: the dramatic final between Argentina and France, in which Lionel Messi secured the long-awaited title.

Sedlaczek was convincing across the board in Qatar. Her interview with Oliver Bierhoff is particularly memorable. After the embarrassing World Cup exit from the DFB team, she grilled the 1996 Golden Goal scorer in front of the camera. He tried unsuccessfully to avoid clear answers. A few days later he lost his job.

It was not only striking how confidently Sedlaczek led through the tournament, but also how well she harmonized with her neighbor: Next to Sedlaczek, Bastian Schweinsteiger seemed much more opinionated and structured than in the past. Quite a few observers see this (also) as a success for the moderator, who led through the program much better than some of her predecessors.

Only in one situation did the former international briefly upset his concubine. When Sedlaczek returned to the studio after the finale, she also said goodbye to Schweinsteiger: “We’re at the end of it. That’s it. It was a lot of fun with you, thanks for that,” she said. And the ex-kicker replied with a saying: “Thank you, Esther. It was fun. Now we’re going on vacation for two weeks, right?”

Sedlaczek hesitated. Looked confused for a moment. And quickly made it clear: “No, no, no, uh, otherwise, of course we won’t do it. Have fun with your family.”

In the meantime, Sedlaczek has actually arrived on vacation. (And without Schweinsteiger. Of course.) On Instagram, she now shows her private side. In her story you can see a picture of her on a slope, she wrote (in English): “First time skiing with the kids.” Including heart emoji.

It is known that Sedlaczek is a mother. She does not publish any further details about her private life.

The animal’s unhappy expression caused a few laughs in the comments. And Sedlaczek was not only asked once whether Schweinsteiger took the photo or how Basti was doing. She will probably have to endure these sayings for a while.
