The actor, missing from the screens for two years, speaks for the first time since the accusations of sexual abuse. He talks about his suicidal thoughts and an abuse he allegedly suffered from a pastor when he was a child.

There were dozens of articles, rumors and even a documentary. But never since the accusations of sexual abuse and cannibalistic inclinations in 2021, actor Armie Hammer had spoken. He tells his side of the story for the first time, in the online newsletter Air Mail. If the actor denies any wrongdoing, he makes his mea culpa.

“I’m here to own up to my mistakes, come to terms with the fact that I was a bastard, that I was selfish, that I used people to make me feel better, and when I was done, I moved on. to something else.”

Armie Hammer also evokes a childhood trauma – a pastor allegedly abused him when he was 13 – and sees there the origin of his interest in BDSM practices (bondage, domination, submission, sado-masochism).

“It introduced sexuality into my life in a way that was completely beyond my control,” he explains.

“I swam as far as I could”

“Sexuality was presented to me in a frightening way, without my being able to control it. My interests then turned to: ‘I want to be in control of the situation, sexually’.”

He also recounts having attempted suicide by drowning in the ocean. “I swam as far as I could hoping to drown, get hit by a boat, or get eaten by a shark.”

“Then I realized my kids were still on the shore, and I couldn’t do this to my kids,” he adds. Armie Hammer has two children with his ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers, from whom he has been separated since 2020.

Armie Hammer also mentions in this interview having worked on himself, to solve his addictions. “I’m now a healthier, happier and more balanced person. I’m able to be there for my kids like I never have been…I’m so grateful for my life, my recovery and everything in between. . I wouldn’t want to go back and undo everything that happened to me.”

Rape charges

An investigation was opened in March 2021, on charges of rape against Armie Hammer, after the filing of a complaint by a young woman with whom he had an affair.

The controversy, initially confined to social networks, took a legal turn after a rape complaint filed by this former companion. The 24-year-old, Efrosina Angelova nicknamed Effie, claimed to have been “brutally raped” for more than four hours in 2017.

But it all started in January 2021, with the allegations of several women accusing the actor of abusive behavior. Posts attributed to him, in which he evoked cannibalistic desires, had also surfaced on social media.

In this interview, Armie Hammer admits to having been “emotionally abusive” with two young women he dated, Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich, who had both testified to the actor’s unbalanced behavior.

The affair brought the actor’s career to a halt, revealed by The Social Network 2010, then co-star in Lone Ranger, Code UNCLE Or Call Me by your Name. Dismissed from the filming of the thriller trillion dollar spyfrom the film recently released on Amazon Prime, Shotgun Weddingand the series The Offerthe actor also lost his contract with the artistic agency WME.
