Aspirant to the Normal Rural de Ayotzinapa disappeared in Guerrero found dead

CHILPANCINGO (proceso.com.mx).- The young Marco Antonio Benegas Cortés, who aspired to enter the Normal Rural Raúl Isidro Burgos de Ayotzinapa this following school year, disappeared on July 23 in Tixtla, and yesterday his body was found in a piece of land on the Chilpancingo-Tixtla federal highway.

The 33-year-old applicant disappeared last Sunday, according to the file issued by the State Commission for the Search for Persons of the State of Guerrero. By that time, he had already begun his induction week at the Normal Rural, located in Tixtla, an advanced phase of the admission process.

The Minerva Bello Victims of Violence Human Rights Center released the details of the case in a statement demanding the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) to clarify the disappearance and death of the young man.

“On July 22, 2023, the young Marco Antonio Benegas Cortés attended the induction week at the Ayotzinapa normal facilities, which is held at the beginning of the school year. However, during the roll call on Sunday and Monday, the student did not show up for the activities. This situation caught the attention of normal school students, who carried out a thorough search in the school and around the normal school to locate it without being successful”, is a fragment of the text from the Minerva Bello Center.

72 hours after there was no news about the applicant, that is, on July 26, his family went to the FGE to file a complaint about his disappearance. The young man’s search file was already circulating with his physical characteristics and particular signs: dark complexion, robust complexion, dark brown eyes, large nose, height 1.75, weight 85 kilograms.

Yesterday, Saturday, reports arrived at the Minerva Bello Center that a body was located at the height of a gap that leads to the Santa Cruz spa, near the Libramiento a Tixtla, the road that leads from Chilpancingo to the municipal seat that is the headquarters of the Normal Rural of Ayotzinapa.

After a police operation and the proceedings carried out by FGE experts, the body was taken to the Chilpancingo Forensic Medical Service (Semefo). They later confirmed that it was the missing young aspirant.

The Minerva Bello Center also confirmed this and demanded that the state authorities promptly clarify the case. “In such circumstances, the Minerva Bello Center pronounces itself because the authorities of the state of Guerrero and in particular the Prosecutor’s Office, carry out the necessary and pertinent investigations to clarify the disappearance and death of the young Marco Antonio and possible perpetrators,” is another fragment of his statement. .
