An amazing new experience! MB14 is known to French viewers for his two tele-hook appearances The Voice in 2016 and in 2021 in the All Stars version. However, if the talented beatboxer always made it to the final, he never won the show. MB14 is certainly a great artist, but also a very good actor. He proved it last year by being the headliner of the film Tenor with Michèle Laroque, a performance for which he was expected to be nominated for the César for best male hope, but without success. MB14, Mohamed Belkhir of his real name, decided to launch a new challenge across the Atlantic, and participated in the sixteenth season of the show Britain’s Got Talent (the English version of France has an unbelievable talent) to unveil his art: beatboxing. He immediately made a strong impression on the jury and won a Golden Buzzer, thus leading him directly to the final!

MB14 made a big splash this weekend with the English public, but how did he end up participating in this show? He answered this question to our colleagues from Parisian. “About six months ago, a casting director messaged me on Instagram. She was looking for beatboxers and she came across my profile. She liked what I did, we had a little chat and she offered me to participate in the program“, he confided. He then immediately accepted her proposal because he himself is a fan of the show. The beatboxer also admitted to our colleagues that this new experience was somewhat frightening, but it was also “a way to touch a bit of everything and a lot of different cultures.

MB14 was totally surprised by the Golden Buzzer

His performance completely overwhelmed the jury, whose Ant & Dec, which triggered the Golden Buzzer much to MB14’s surprise. “At the time, I did not understand what was happening. I was so focused on my performance. So I was in an in-between where everything was happening very quickly and, at the same time, time was suspended”, he explained. Before concluding, “So much so that I completely forgot that the Golden Buzzer existed and that the animators could trigger it!” Unfortunately, we will have to be patient before finding out if MB14 will be the big winner of the sixteenth season of Britain’s Got Talentsince the final will take place in several weeks.
