The state of health of Marcia Noemí Mattoso (27) is extremely delicate. She is still admitted to intensive care, with a reserved prognosis, after having been repeatedly stabbed by her ex-partner and father of two of her three children, Adrian Zuachzer (26), last night, in the central square of Villa Bonita, Municipality of Campo Ramón.
The attacker has been on the run since then and it is presumed that he could have crossed into Brazil, because he is a native of Santa Rita, a border town in the upper Uruguayan region of Misiones.
Parallel to his search, the spiral of violence in which he kept the victim subjected during almost every relationship, around nine years ago, began to become public.
During all this time there was physical and verbal violence, threats of all kinds, even the intentional burning of a house where they lived in Alba Posse and repeated complaints, a clear request for help that the authorities never took seriously, they assured.
And in this context now it is his parents, Mariela Leguizamón and Carlos Mattoso, who decided to break the silence and publicly highlight the dangerousness of Zuachzer.
The threat, a few days ago
“It’s late, as always, they began to move again with the fait accompli, but there were alerts and there were not a few. There were complaints, restrictions on approaching that were useless, I myself was at the Villa Bonita police station asking please to arrest him because he had threatened to harm my daughter, but they told me that they could do nothing without the authorization of a judge,” lamented the victim’s mother with tears in her eyes, anguished for not having been able to prevent the brutal attack that now he has her between life and death.
The parents recounted that the threat and the request for action from the security force occurred at the beginning of this month, after a new assault suffered by Marcia in the apartment she had been renting since April, just around the scene of the event.
“That time he had escaped with the keys to the apartment, and it was terrible, but since my daughter didn’t see the reason to go back to the farm (in Picada Mandarina) with the boys, I asked the police to do something, to stop him. I told them that it wasn’t the first time I had hit her but that she had also sent me a message threatening that she was going to hurt her and her father as well. Not only could I not get her to safety, but they also did nothing because she continued freedom and making fun of everyone,” insisted Mariela.
“He didn’t even respect his children, the boys lived traumatized, he never liked working and he lived on his salary but when the money ran out he went crazy,” said Carlos, while the mother recalled that that day she insisted, as so many other times, on take her with them for safety: “I talked to her and talked to her but I could never make her see reason, she believed the word of the guy who told her that he was going to change, but the blows were repeated more and more frequently,” he added.
Concerned about the risk that the young woman was running, they decided a few days ago that a younger sister would accompany her. She made herself comfortable in the little space that was in the studio apartment and last night, when they went out to clear up, she ended up being an eyewitness to the attack that almost ended in death.

“Why didn’t they do something when it was reported, when they were asked for help. That’s my pain, not having been able to avoid this despite having insisted so much,” added the mother, who this morning with her husband took the few of their daughter’s belongings and are taking care of the children, who witnessed what the father did. “The youngest cries asking for her mother,” he lamented.
In this context, they remembered an episode that had Zuachzer as the protagonist when they lived in Alba Posse. “He set the house on fire, left them on the street and was never detained. That was three years ago,” added the mother, recalling that “once I talked to his mother to get her to do something and she said they didn’t care when they wanted to denounce him in Alba Posse because somehow he was also a victim”.

There are authorities throughout this province and if he escaped to Brazil, that they look for him from there and bring him. It is the only way to get justice for my daughter”.
“I hope that now the authorities take what he is capable of doing seriously, because for nine years he made my daughter’s life hell,” he denounced, adding: “We will only have peace of mind when he is in prison, and my daughter can get out alive from this situation”.
The last medical part of the day generated hope in the family. Doctors believe that his body will respond to the treatment after the multiple surgeries done on the affected vital organs. “They are very deep and damaging points, they said that it will be a slow process but that she is young and that will give her strength to recover,” they stressed.
