Authorities identify victims of double homicide in Braintree

Authorities are investigating a double homicide in Braintree, Massachusetts, early Sunday morning.

Braintree police say they responded to 911 calls around 1:30 a.m. reporting gunshots in the Alfred Road area.

Authorities say they found two people in a car with gunshot wounds seconds after arriving in the area. A third person in the car was not injured.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals where they succumbed to their injuries, according to police.

The two victims were identified as Jahzier Porter, 16, and Jayden Santos-Andrade, 20, according to authorities.

Porter was a student at Braintree High School. The school will provide grief counselors to students.

“We must not lose sight of the fact that two families grieving the worst days of their lives are going to do everything they can to find a solution to this and bring those responsible to justice,” said the deputy chief of cop Tim Cohoon.

Police are asking anyone with information or surveillance video who can help with the investigation to come forward. If you have any information about this incident you are urged to call 781-830-4990 or 781-794-8620.
