Ridle Baku’s time at VfL Wolfsburg may be coming to an end. There is a certain market for the right-back in the summer. According to reports, Arsenal FC and Villarreal FC are currently dealing with the 25-year-old’s commitment. In the past, Chelsea FC and RB Leipzig were also mentioned. Even if Baku is under contract with VfL until 2025, the four-time international could make the departure in the summer.
The wolves are apparently preparing for this scenario. As the Sun reports, the Bundesliga club is currently watching Max Aarons from Norwich City more closely. Last Friday, Wolfsburg scouts are said to have taken a closer look at Aarons in the 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers. The 23-year-old is also one of the top performers in the Canaries this season.
This season, the lightning-fast right-footed player made 42 competitive appearances. Good for VfL: The 20-time English U21 international is only under contract with the English second division team until 2024. Norwich will have to deal with selling Aarons at the end of the season at the latest if they don’t want to let the home-grown player go on a free transfer.
