Marjorie Delassus is vice-champion of Europe in slalom in canoe kayak. She is impatiently awaiting the 2024 Paris Games to expand this brand new list of winners.
Para-swimming world vice-champion Théo Curin takes us behind the scenes of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Today we return to the whitewater stadium in Vaires-sur-Marne. Théo finds Marjorie Delassus there, a canoe kayak slalom specialist, the discipline of triple Olympic champion Tony Estanguet, (president of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee).
“Here is the pool on which I train daily, and it is the one that will be used for the Games in 2024!” enthuses the one who was vice-champion of Europe last year, her first international medal among seniors.
“We think about the Games at every training session. 500 days is both still a long way off, but already very close. I can’t wait.” The kayaker is fearless and is immediately aiming for a medal for her first participation in Olympic events.

Physio and policeman
Marjorie started slalom at the age of 8, in the Alps, where she grew up. Little by little, she took a liking to competition and was able to access the Espoir pole and now the France pole. “Being able to train where the events will take place is a considerable assetsays the athlete. In our discipline, we have to constantly adapt, so knowing the movements of the water well is an indisputable plus.”
The young woman lives her sport as a family, since she is the eldest of four siblings who are all top-level kayakers. Marjorie Delassus has just obtained a degree in physiotherapy, and she works at the National Gendarmerie. But for now, she’s putting her professional life on hold to focus on the goal of summer 2024.
