FC Barcelona bagged their first title of the season yesterday. The Blaugrana defeated their long-time rival Real Madrid in the Supercopa final with a comfortable 3:1. The Spanish press knows no other topic this morning. “Super Barça is clearly superior to Real Madrid […] and wins the first title in the Xavi era”, one reads on the front page of ‘Sport’. The ‘as’ is shorter: “The Super Barça of the Super Gavi”, is the headline in the sports newspaper with regard to the player of the game. The youngster recorded a goal and an assist in the final. The ‘Mundo Deportivo’ writes: “An outstanding Gavi deserves the MVP”.
Spurs disgrace in derby
After the final whistle, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was kicked in the ribs by an opposing fan when he picked up his gloves. “The Gunners extend their lead, but the class win is overshadowed by a fan attack”, writes the ‘Mirror’. Have the kick “Shame on the game” brought. Nevertheless, the ‘Daily Express’ praises the sporty aspect: “Oh my Gaard”, headlines the newspaper. A nod to the goalscorer and captain Martin Odegaard.

Paulo Dybala regains his former strength at AS Roma. His 13 goals in 16 games has some Juventus fans wondering why the Argentine was allowed to go on a free transfer. In yesterday’s 2-0 win against AC Fiorentina, the newly crowned world champion even scored twice. “Juve, have you seen Paulo?”, is the provocative headline in ‘Corriere dello Sport’. The ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ bears no grudge against the old lady and simply writes: “When Dybala is there, there is joy.”
