Prince Harry’s autobiography “Spare” will be released on January 10th. In the controversial work, the Duke of Sussex sharply criticizes his family. At the coronation of King Charles III. he will therefore no longer play a major role.

Montecito – Even after Prince Harry (38) turned his back on the British royal family in February 2021 and settled with his wife Meghan Markle (41) in the US state of California, seems to want no rest in the life of the heir to the throne. Although the Sussexes are now seen more as public figures than representatives of the crown after their exit as full-time royals, the two make headlines all the more. Your Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan” was very controversial before it started broadcasting, and Harry’s memoirs “Spare” in particular have proven to be extremely explosive.

“No Official Role”: King Charles III. is said to have left Harry out of his coronation

Harry’s autobiography, Spare, is out January 10 with global publisher Random House – and promises to have drastic repercussions for everyone involved. In the work, the Duke of Sussex looks back on his eventful life, reviews his biggest scandals and expresses sharp criticism of his family, especially Prince William (40), Queen Consort Camilla (75) and King Charles III (74). While royals pundits were initially unsure whether Harry’s family would respond to his allegations, he seems to have made one disclosure too many within the pages of his book.

In “Spare,” Harry calls Queen Consort Camilla a “wicked stepmother” and claims his brother William once attacked him because of Meghan Markle — but his relatives aren’t ignorant of these profound allegations. Like the Royals expert Sunday Times, Roya Nikkah, revealed on Twitter that the youngest son of Charles and Lady Di († 36) was removed from his father’s coronation ceremony on May 6, 2023. “Prince Harry was written from the script for the coronation and has no official role in the service should he attend,” says Nikkah. “Charles breaks with tradition and forgoes the prostration of the dukes in honor of the monarch. Only William will take on that role.”

Prince Harry’s memoir “Spare” controversial even before it went on sale

On January 10, 2023, Prince Harry’s memoirs “Spare” will be published by Random House – but these prove to be controversial even before publication. Although the work is described as an honest look back at Harry’s life and experiences, many royals pundits believe it could also be a harsh critique of British royalty. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8th, 2022 and a resulting wave of public skepticism towards the British monarchy, this could have devastating consequences. “The British Royal Family (…) must earn and keep the respect of the public,” explains Royals author Valentine Low, “If this is ever damaged in any fundamental or permanent way, it could be very serious.”

‘Cruel and sad’: Prince William’s friends react to Harry’s allegations

It is unlikely that the British royals will comment publicly on Harry’s words, like they do Daily Mail reported friends of Prince William told the Sunday Times however, made it clear how the heir to the throne feels about “Spare”. The father of George (9), Charlotte (7) and Louis (4) is said to be “burning with anger” and he is “worried and sad” after his brother’s “cowardly” statements.

“William won’t hit back, he never would because he’s too dignified and incredibly loyal,” a source told the British newspaper. “It’s cruel and so sad that William is still taking it. He is silent for the good of his family and the country.”

With the release of Harry’s memoirs, it seems almost impossible for the prince brothers to reconcile. Nevertheless, in his interview with the broadcaster ITV, Harry is peaceful and therefore wishes his father and brother back – even if he still wants “a family, not an institution”. However, it is questionable whether this will actually happen. Meanwhile, Thomas, the father of Harry’s wife Meghan Markle, has revealed secret text messages from his daughter.
