FC Bayern and Ryan Gravenberch could part ways again in the summer after just one season. So far, the move to Munich has turned out to be a disappointment, especially for the Dutchman. The 20-year-old midfielder made just two starts in the Bundesliga. In just 16 percent of the possible season, Ajax Amsterdam’s summer purchase was allowed to be on the pitch this season.
Gravenberch recently made his desire for a change of scenery clear: “A year of training and playing at the highest level is nice and instructive. Although I also play, it’s mainly training. That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again. It is clear that this role does not correspond to my ideas.”
Next prospect appears
Despite the manageable playing times, Gravenberch still enjoys a good reputation in the Premier League. As the ‘Mirror’ reports, Manchester City are now also interested in the youngster. The Skyblues see the Bayern professional as an alternative to Jude Bellingham. For the midfielder from Borussia Dortmund, there are more and more signs of a move to Real Madrid.
With Gravenberch, the Citizens would also bring a player with plenty of experience (over 130 professional games) at a young age and further development potential on board, albeit at a level below the BVB professionals. After FT-Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC and Manchester United have also made initial contacts about a transfer. Gravenberch is tied to Munich until 2027.
