The last weekend of the holiday will be all about return travel.

On the one hand coming from the east in the direction of Germany, on the other hand from the ski areas to the metropolitan areas. According to the ÖAMTC, you should also plan border waiting times. Coming from Hungary before the Nickelsdorf border and towards Germany before the Suben, Walserberg and Kufstein border crossings.

“As early as Thursday, the convoys will roll from Nickelsdorf via the Ost Autobahn (A4), the outer ring expressway (S1) and the outer ring Autobahn (A21) to the West Autobahn (A1) and on to the Innkreis Autobahn (A8) in the direction of Suben,” fears ÖAMTC- Expert Marc Römer. “An accident or a defective vehicle can quickly lead to long delays,” says Römer.

Skier traffic in Vorarlberg

Skiers: internal traffic is mainly in Vorarlberg and Tyrol (Rheintal Autobahn (A14), Montafoner Straße (L188), Inntal Autobahn (A12) and Fernpassstraße (B179) as well as all side valleys of the Inn Valley) but also in Salzburg and Styria (Ennstalstraße ( B20) be noticeable.

According to the ÖAMTC, the last competition of the Four Hills Tournament for ski jumpers in Bischofshofen on January 6th will also be a magnet for visitors. In addition to passenger traffic, there will be traffic jams on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in the Pongau junction area and on Pinzgauer Straße (B311).
