May 21, 1967 was a memorable day for the history books of the communities of Nenzing and Frastanz. On this day, a referendum ordered by the state of Vorarlberg was carried out:

“Should Mittelberg belong to Frastanz or stay with Nenzing?” Before that, there were a few controversial points among the population of the Motten, Mariex, Roßnis, Halden and Rungeletsch plots and in the two communities of Frastanz and Nenzing, which could not be clarified.

Nenzing or Frastanz?
The discussion started with the question of which elementary school the children should go to. There were other topics that were highly controversial among the local population. During two storytelling evenings on Sunday, May 21, at 7 p.m. in the Vorarlberg Museumswelt in Frastanz and on Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m. in the Wolfhaus attic in Nenzing, the two community archivists Thomas Welte and Thomas Gamon will describe the background to these Decision. Eyewitnesses from back then as well as the current residents of Mittelberg, Frastanz and Nenzing are invited to these two storytelling evenings, as are of course those interested in history
