Biden approves the declaration of disaster for the floods and storms in New York

MADRID, (EUROPE PRESS). – The president of the United States, Joe Biden, approved this Saturday the declaration of disaster in response to the recent storms and floods that have affected the state of New York.

Biden “has ordered the allocation of federal aid” that will be added to the approved state, tribal and local funds for areas affected by storms between July 9 and 10.

These funds will go towards repairing or replacing facilities damaged by storms and flooding in Clinton, Dutchess, Essex, Hamilton, Ontario, Orange, Putnam and Rockland counties.

Lai Sun Yee, of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will be responsible for coordinating federal operations in the affected areas, the White House reported in a statement.
