The Emmy winner is part of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), chaired by Fran Drescher herself. For now, the negotiations with the Alliance of Film and TV Producers (AMPTP) have not advanced in the most favorable way, forcing some strikers to take drastic measures.
Billy Porter could sell his house to save money for the strike
In a recent interview with the Evening Standard newspaper, the actor revealed that his financial situation, while not critical (yet), You are forcing him to divest himself of some major assets.
Due to the Hollywood actors’ strike, several of his projects are ‘frozen’, preventing him from continuing productions. Thus, Billy Porter could sell his house to cover expenses and savings.

One of those executives, whose identity was not given, said that “the end game is allowing things to drag on until union members start losing their apartments and houses“.
These last statements referred more precisely to the striking writers, who have been demonstrating since May 2.
