TV 2 presenter Linn Wiik shared the pregnancy news during the live broadcast of Good Summer Norway in 2018.

During an interview with Vegard Harm (26) and Jørgine Massa Vasstrand (33), she gulped water over the guests. The reason was that she was nauseous from before.
Then she had to decide whether she wanted to share the news with the people. Something she chose to do. At the time, Wiik was 11 weeks along.
Hated being pregnant
During the pregnancy, Wiik felt lonely, despite having close friends and a man she loves.
– I felt the pressure to be happy all the time, but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t think about how everything is so magical throughout the days, she says in the episode.
Wiik felt like the world’s most privileged pregnant person, and that it was therefore difficult to be honest about the fact that it was a difficult period.
– I love being a mum, but hate being pregnant. I thought it was a very demanding time, she tells TV2.
She has chosen to be open about this because she knows there are others in the same situation.
– There is a great expectation that you should just be happy and walk around glowing when you are pregnant, but then it is not always like that, she says to TV 2 and adds:
– In the aftermath of the episode, I have received several messages from ladies who think it is good to hear that they are not alone in such feelings.
Wiik emphasizes that she is very grateful that she has the opportunity to have children, and is very happy to be a mother.

On the day of the term in 2019, Wiik noticed that something was different. Then the TV 2 profiler went to the bathroom to put on her make-up.
– I wanted to be a bit “fresh” so that you could take a cozy birth picture when the child was out, she says with a laugh in the episode.
Eventually it escalated quickly, and Wiik had to call the delivery room.
– They said it took a long time, so it was just a matter of taking it easy. I was advised to take two paracetamols.
Soon after, Wiik had to call again when it got worse. It didn’t take long before she and her husband were in a taxi on their way to Ullevål hospital, where they were sent straight to the delivery room.
In the delivery room, Wiik had to go to the bathroom, and it didn’t go quite as expected.
– It was like a roller coaster, because it spilled out in all directions. The water broke, and there were also contractions, so it hurt a lot, says Wiik and adds:
– I had to hold on to the handle of the toilet so as not to fall off the toilet because there was so much force in that spray. I must have looked completely crazy when the midwife and my husband came in.
The birth itself took just over two hours.
– It happened so quickly that no one had time to receive her, so she just fell out of bed.

Hiding in the basement at birth number two
In 2021, when Wiik was due to give birth to child number two, they went to the delivery room on the day of the due date when they realized it was going to happen.
– We were told to just go home, because this will take time. They do their investigations, have their criteria and there are others waiting, but I knew it wasn’t going to take long before it happened.
Right at the maternity ward, Wiik and her husband could remember that the maternity hotel had a set of sofas in the basement outside the beds.
– “I’m not going home again, because this is going to happen so quickly”, I thought. We pretended to go home as we strolled down the hall and sat on the couch. We sat there for about three quarters of an hour.
Birth number two took just one hour from the time they arrived at the delivery room until the baby was born.
– The second time was much worse, and I remember thinking: I’m not doing this again.
