Announced on January 9, 2023 O2-Telefónica CEO Markus Haas announced price increases in the company’s tariff portfolio via a More4More approach – “more service at a fair Surcharge” for the brands O2, BLAU, AY YILDIZ and Ortel Mobile. The mobile phone brand Blau has communicated its new mobile phone tariffs and they are a first example of implementation.

From February 7, 2023, new customers with the “Blau Prepaid Allnet” tariffs will receive up to 4 gigabytes more data volume, improved data speed and a new app bonus. All new blue customers will then surf mobile at a speed of 33 Mbit/s instead of the previous 25 Mbit/s. The app bonus is new: the app bonus of 1 GB can be added to the “Mein Blau” app free of charge every 28 days.

Important to mention: Blue speaks of a speed increase, but the whole thing will not be achieved consistently. According to its own statements, the company only offers an average speed of 18.2 Mbit/s for downloading and 9.9 Mbit/s for uploading.

An overview of the new tariffs:

  • Blue Allnet S: 5 GB (instead of 3 GB) + all-network flat rate for €8.99 (instead of €7.99)
  • Blue Allnet M: 10 GB (instead of 6 GB) + all-network flat rate for €13.99 (instead of €12.99)
  • Blue Allnet L: 15 GB (instead of 12 GB) + all-network flat rate for €18.99 (instead of €17.99))

The Blau Allnet S, M and L tariffs include an Allnet flat rate for telephony and SMS to all German mobile networks and landlines as well as EU roaming. The tariffs are available on blau.de and in stationary retail stores.
