Marco Reus was recently criticized. After the 3:3 at the relegation candidate Stuttgart, he was substituted in the 63rd minute, but could not change anything. What’s next for the BVB captain? That question still looms over the club. His contract runs until summer, the end of the current season.
In the question of a possible extension, the offensive player now receives support from a colleague – and also finds clear words about the recent criticism of Reus’ leadership qualities.

BVB star Julian Brandt: “I’ll be happy if he stays.”
National player Julian Brandt wants an extension with Marco Reus. He explains this in an interview with “Web.de”. “I’ll be happy if he stays,” said Brandt. He cannot understand the criticism of the captain. “Marco hasn’t lost his standing, his demeanor or the energy he radiates in recent years,” emphasized Brandt. He added:
“He is someone who leads in his own way. He is perhaps – and I think that’s why he is often viewed critically in Germany – not the typical leader-captain as many imagine him in their heads. He is a different kind of leader.”
Reus and his advisor Hebe probably had an appointment at the BVB office
As the “Bild“-Zeitung reports, Reus and his advisor Dirk lever are said to have come from the BVB office on Thursday. According to information from the newspaper, they had arranged a next summit meeting with BVB and sports director Sebastian Kehl, topic: new contract. However, details should still be clarified. Even a signature should not yet be sealed.

As several media had reported, there is a one-year contract in the room. However, Marco Reus would have to accept heavy financial losses for this. Instead of twelve million euros a year, Reus should get by with seven million euros as a fixed salary.
