The Ministry of Health reported that 16 million people have already received the bivalent vaccine against covid-19. The entire population over 18 years old can be immunized, equivalent to about 97 million people.
You can take the bivalent dose who received at least two doses of monovalent vaccines (Coronavirus, Astrazeneca or Pfizer) in the primary or booster scheme. The most recent dose must have been taken four months ago. Those with a delayed dose can also look for health units.

The state with the highest number of doses applied so far is São Paulo, where more than 5 million have been vaccinated, followed by Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul.
The immunization campaign with the bivalent vaccine began in February, aimed at priority groups, such as the elderly, pregnant women and people with disabilities or immunocompromised people. In April, the federal government increased the bivalent booster dose for everyone over 18 years old.
“The booster dose strategy is used because, after a while, the body’s response drops and a new contact with the vaccine greatly increases the effectiveness of prevention against the coronavirus. Research already carried out shows, for example, that booster doses play a key role in preventing deaths from Covid-19”, informs the ministry.
The folder also advises that, in addition to the bivalent vaccine, people take other vaccines that are overdue.
