In Bremen, the SPD is again ahead. However, the result also shows: Habeck’s heating law and green felt leave their mark.
Democracy in Bremen is when everyone goes to vote, and in the end the SPD always governs. It is the same after this state election; and Andreas Bovenschulte can triumph again, this time even as the election winner with the most votes. The really interesting thing about this choice is: When flying high of the Greens there is a clear one stall. It was not city politics that cost the Greens a significant number of votes, but rather Habeck’s quick-fix heating law and green felt. However, neither the CDU nor the FDP were able to benefit from this. Also interesting:

The conservatives remain at the old level and even only play them second violin. Even the liberals didn’t score with their pro-car course and landed right on the parliamentary tipping point.
The fact that the FDP is currently always going down and not up is bitter for Christian Lindner, who can once again ask himself the question: Was it really smart to put your own profile between the SPD and the Greens on the government grinder? The biggest election winners by vote increase are those who “Anger” to the program have made. The populists with the slanted title “Citizens in Anger” get around ten percent right away and can take their anger to parliament. The fact that you can get twice as many votes as the Free Democrats with a name like that shows how easy it is populists can currently collect votes. That should be a warning for all established parties and does not bode well for the upcoming election series in East Germany.
