“I was sure I didn’t want to be a father,” says the singer about her ex-boyfriend
Britney Spears revealed that she had an abortion after becoming pregnant with Justin Timberlake. This is one of the singer’s confessions in her biography, The Woman in Me, which will be released on October 24th.
The two started dating in 1999, when they were teenagers, and ended their romance in 2002. “I loved Justin so much. I always hoped that one day we would have a family together.
That would be much sooner than I expected. But Justin was definitely not happy about the pregnancy. I didn’t want to be a father”, says Britney Spears in the book that is about to be released.
The pop princess goes ahead with the report: “He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were too young.” She is aware of the repercussions of the revelation. “I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.”
“I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left to just me, I would never have done it. And yet Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father.”
Britney shares custody of her sons Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Justin Timberlake is married to Jessica Biel, with whom he has sons Silas, 8, and Phineas, 3.
