Brooke Shields revealed that she was a victim of rape when she was a young Hollywood actress. Her testimony was given in the new documentary “Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields”, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
In the aforementioned documentary, the 57-year-old celebrity did not reveal the identity of her attackerbut he said that he met this man – whom he already knew – shortly after graduating from university, believing that it was a work meeting to discuss his participation in a new film.
In her testimony, Shields said that this “powerful man” took her to her hotel claiming that he would call a taxi for her from her room. Instead, he disappeared into the bathroom before returning naked and assaulting her, the remembered actress from the film “The Blue Lagoon” (1980) narrated.
Brooke said in the documentary.
“I didn’t fight that much. I did not do it. I was totally paralyzed. And I just thought ‘stay alive and go’”, narrated the celebrity.
After the incident, Shields he remembers calling his friend and head of security Gavin de Becker on the phone.“That’s rape”he told her, to which she replied: “I’m not willing to believe that”.
Echoing the MeToo movement, Brooke Shields’ revelation is one of several shocking moments in the film, which will premiere on streaming platform Hulu in two parts.
The first part of the documentary examines the intense sexualization Shields experienced as a child, including a provocative nude photo shoot at age 10, and her appearance as a child prostitute in the film “Pretty Baby” at age 11.

The documentary shows a young Shields being subjected to lewd questions from commentators much older than her about her roles in films such as “The Blue Lagoon” and “Everlasting Love,” and the series of controversial Calvin Klein jeans commercials in which she starred.
