Last February, the family of Bruce Willis reported that the condition dthe actor had progressed to frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The family revealed that there are currently no treatments for the disease and as Willis’ condition progresses, they have shared some updates.
“Since we announced Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis in the spring of 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD)”shared the actor’s family at the beginning of the year.
“Unfortunately, the challenges with communication are just a symptom of the illness Bruce is facing. While this is painful, it’s a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”, Willis’s loved ones added.
Bruce Willis’s wife opens up about her fight for the actor’s health
Since the Willis family publicly revealed in 2022 that the actor was diagnosed with aphasia and was retiring from acting, his wife, Heming Willis, has served as her caretaker.
In a recent video, posted on his Instagram account, Heming explained why he had previously asked people caring for a loved one with dementia to send him photos of “something beautiful.”

“I just think it’s very important for us to break our thinking, which can feel pessimistic to me.”said.
“I know it feels like I’m living my best life. I have to make a conscious effort every day to live the best life I can… I do it myself, I do it for my two children and for Bruce, who wouldn’t want me to live any other way”, added.
“I do not want it to be misunderstood that I am because I am not. I’m not well. But I have to do my best for myself and my family’s sake.” Heming clarified.
Hemin and the actor married in 2009 and have two daughters.Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9. Willis also shares three children with his ex-wife, actress Demi Moore: Tallulah, 29, Rumer, 34, and Scout, 31.
