BTS' Jin to carry Paris Olympic torch

THE ANGELS.- Jin, the oldest member of the K-pop supergroup BTSwill be the torchbearer Paris Olympics after recently completing his mandatory military service.

The 31-year-old singer is expected to represent South Korea in the torch relay in hopes of spreading the message of harmony and peace, according to a statement.

The interpreter will carry out this task after having completed his 18-month military service last month.

Jin, along with the other torchbearers, is scheduled to tour several historical sites in the host country. The specific schedule has not been disclosed.

The torch relay began in April.

Jin began his military service at a South Korean frontline military training camp in late 2022. The other members of his group, consisting of Jung Kook, V, Jimin, Suga, RM, and J-Hope, are currently fulfilling their military duties.

A day after being discharged from military service, Jin hosted BTS’s annual debut anniversary celebration, Festa, in Seoul, with activities including food, performances, and dance challenges.
