Bad news arrives for the players of destiny 2and that is that the game is currently offline after a bunch of key player items started to disappear.

Destiny 2 is one of the biggest online games out there right now, thanks to Bungie he has a knack for creating incredibly fun and satisfying first-person shooters like Halo and the Destiny series, which was a pretty big risk, but he managed to put the Halo series behind him.

And that risk paid off, as it allowed Bungie to get even bigger before agreeing to a PlayStation acquisition in 2022. However, Destiny 2 is running into some issues today with Triumphs, Catalysts, and Sigils. Players started reporting that they were losing progress in the ongoing sci-fi shooter after a recent update, leading Bungie to shut down the game altogether.

As of now, players have been unable to play Destiny 2 for over an hour and this is expected to continue as Bungie tries to identify what is causing this issue. The developer noted that it doesn’t have a timeline for when the game will come back online, but it will keep players updated as it figures things out.

Of course, no one wants their progress to be reset or interrupted, but this bug seems pretty wild, so much so that it could derail everything to the point of having to close the game altogether. Either way, it probably won’t be for long. Hopefully the game will be back online tonight as more players return home.

Destiny 2 is currently preparing to release a new DLC called lightfall, which will arrive at the end of February. Hopefully, whatever happens here, Bungie will be able to prepare the game for a smooth launch and players anticipating the new expansion won’t be interrupted by major server issues, although we’ll have to wait a bit longer for that.
