The transport companies of the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA) announced the reduction and in some cases suspension of night services, between 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, and 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, and announced that they will strike next Wednesday, April 19 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., “in order not to totally affect the hours of greatest demand.” The lines affected by the business claim will be those that go from 1 to 199.

According to the statement signed by CEAP (Business Chamber of Passenger Auto Transport), CETUBA (Business Chamber of Urban Transport of Buenos Aires), CTPBA (Business Chamber of the Province of Buenos Aires), AAETA (Argentine Association of Businessmen of Automotive Transport) and CEUTUPBA (Cámara de Empresarios Unidos del Transporte Urbano de Pasajeros de Buenos Aires), the measure is a claim for the lack of updating in the subsidies sent by the national government.

“The business entities of public passenger transportation by automobile that sign this document alert the population to the considerable delay verified in the accreditation of the funds for the fare compensation corresponding to the higher costs incurred during the current year,” the companies indicated. .

And they added: “The State’s lack of compliance with its commitment to update the determination of costs to March values, with objective prices and indicators that are effectively representative of the economic reality of the market.”

For this reason, the transport service will begin to be reduced from 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18. Meanwhile, the measure of force planned for Wednesday will be total, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., which is the time when the least number of people travel.

As indicated by the businessmen in the statement, “funds corresponding to the first quarter of the current year are pending accreditation, for a total value equivalent to almost the total compensation for a full month, even considering that the pertinent calculations do not sufficiently cover the actual costs of the activity.

“By virtue of this, it is reported that in order to make benefits compatible with the available economic resources, many companies will be forced from the day of the date not to provide night services and reduce frequencies during the day,” says the release.
